Gio plumbing was established in 1996, after I successfully completed my apprenticeship and trade test.
In 1997, I was called up for military service in the Italian army. There I was placed in an engineering core, where I specialized in plumbing. It was there that I started my international experience in construction and plumbing. After 14 months of service, I returned to South Africa to start Gio Plumbing.
From 2000-2002, I moved to London to take up an offer to work for a 4-star hotel on a 2 year plumbing contract. I later followed this up with a further 2 year contract from 2008-2010. On this occasion, for a 5-star hotel established in 1865, that was in the process of a £85m renovation. I had the opportunity to specialize in plant room and industrial maintenance in my role as a Assistant Chief Engineer.
In the UK, I was able to work with diverse, qualified people and companies specializing in areas and services within the plumbing sector. With this diversity, I gained useful techniques and knowledge. From my experience with these companies, I have taken note of more technically advanced methodologies and, am now applying them to my work in South Africa. I offer to my clients an international level of expertise in both the domestic and commercial fields.
Gio Plumbing is now proud to say that we are qualified in plumbing areas of Solar and Gas Installation.
At Gio Plumbing and Gas, all the work is executed by a qualified Italian Artisan. We have invested in specialized machinery and equipment so as to avoid subcontracting, and therefore retaining the work in-house.
